The BMO Vancouver Marathon will be coming through Yaletown!

The BMO Vancouver Marathon is organized by the Vancouver International Marathon Society, and had created their first Vancouver marathon in 1987.

This year, the race is taking new courses through Vancouver! The 2 races showcase Vancouver’s charming neighbourhoods, world class parks, and stunning Seawall.

On Sunday, May 6th, watch out for the 10,000 half-marathon participants dashing through Yaletown in the early morning (around 7:15 – 9:15am). An additional 5,000 runners will be completing the full marathon, on the outskirts of Yaletown and around Stanley Park.

Free Santa photos will return to Yaletown this year!

Last year’s free photos were at the Yaletown caboose and brought in many donations to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank. For 2011, the location is to be determined, but make sure to mark your calendars, as it will be on December 4th, 2011.

Happy Halloween

Yaletown will bring together trick or treaters once again on October 31st from around 3:30pm until the children are finished (usually 6:30pm).

Expect to be immersed with more than 500 children that arrive to haunt Yaletown. All businesses displaying “Spidey” window posters will be giving out candies and goodies on Halloween.

Joining the children this year will be roving music makers in the heritage district from 4pm until 5pm.
