Illuminate Sponsorship Opportunities
We need your help to make this Winter Festival a success! Here are some ways to get involved:
Sponsor an installation – we have the site, you get the recognition
The YBIA has developed a list of ideal sites for each installation during Illuminate Yaletown. These preferred locations are a range of uncovered outdoor, covered outdoor and fully indoor sites. You can be the exclusive sponsor of a specific location, with name recognition at the site, on the site map, and on promotional materials. Fine Finds, 24 Hours and Edgewater Casino each sponsored unique displays and received media coverage recognizing their support of public art and promoting their brand as “leading edge”.
Become the installation site – you have the site, we pair you with an artist
YBIA will pair you up with an installation artist, to develop a site installation that will draw attention to your location. Your location will be featured on the site map, and promotional materials. Yaletown Brewing Company, Earls, Hamilton St. Grill, Goldfish and Mavi hosted light artisans, and benefitted from thousands of recognitions of their support, and attracted crowds to their locations.
We encourage you to design your own site – you have the site, and you have the creative talent, and you have the equipment to produce a light-inspired show
If you have talented, experienced people on board, and you rent or own an approved site, then this is an opportunity for you to showcase your talents. Use your creative energies and equipment to light up your site and WOW everyone. Last year, Raw Canvas hosted a unique “shadow puppet” show, and Mini Yaletown sponsored a spectacular collection of indoor and outdoor exhibits of light art. These merchants attracted huge crowds to their locations.
Invite your customers and media contacts to attend this event- Your customers already love you, now reward them with a festival
lluminate Yaletown is Vancouver’s only downtown winter festival, and we all want to keep Yaletown top-of-mind with our customers and media. Invite your customers, throw a private party and show off that you are part of Vancouver’s coolest neighbourhood.
To get involved, please email Annette O’Shea, Executive Director of the Yaletown Business Improvement Association.

Notes
Approved Site Location: We have pre-selected sites throughout Yaletown. All sites must be 100% dedicated to the installation. Sites would not be suited to partial use of an internal location. Alternate sites may be approved by the Event Producer.
Approved Installation Design: All installations must be approved by the Event Producer for inclusion into Illuminate Yaletown. This is to ensure that the installations meet any insurance and safety requirements, match the artistic goals of the event, and are within City bylaws such as signage, noise, public safety, public space use, etc.
Important Safety and Legal Note: Strobe and laser lights are not allowed to be used in any part of a display, due to legal restrictions regarding the safety of these light types. Strobe and laser lights have been proven to trigger seizures and cause permanent eye damage. Please do not incorporate these light styles into your display.
