Keeping the Yaletown business district vibrant and economically viable is the Yaletown BIA’s number one priority.  We ensure that Yaletown property owners and businesses, including retail, professional and office tenants, continue to benefit from their membership. With the levy collected from each member,  the BIA works to keep Yaletown a world-class destination that is clean, attractive, vibrant and safe.

How Can We Help Your Business

• Take advantage of the programs available to Yaletown businesses – street promotional teams, free listing in our online directory, free listing in our map directory, monthly newsletter subscription, graffiti removal,  street sanitation and safe walk
• Keep informed about activities and opportunities in Yaletown by subscribing to our e-newsletter and participating in our social media outreach.
• Promote your business by advertising in our publications like the printed Yaletown map, online directory, history boards, and newsletters
• Make your business more visible through sponsorship of  events that increase customer visits to Yaletown, or your team can get involved in the events themselves.
• We support you in working with various levels of government on advocacy issues. We are currently working on issues affecting; parking rates and availability, transit, patio permits, waste management, park use, area electrical power load, heritage preservation.

How The Levy Works

The member levy is approximately $0.44 per $1,000 of assessed property value or 2.5% of each member’s property tax. This makes the Yaletown BIA’s levy the third lowest in the downtown. So if a property is assessed at $500,000 the property owner would contribute $220 per year to the Yaletown BIA budget.
