Yaletown Business Improvement Association members (commercial tenants and property owners) are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting. As a Yaletown commercial business and/or property owner, this is your opportunity to learn about upcoming neighbourhood plans and voice your opinion on important issues.

Join us for an annual review of the Yaletown BIA’s activities, the board members’ elections, and the acceptance of financial statements.

Frequently Asked Questions

YES. You must fill out the form during our every fiscal year which restart on April 1st.

Our constitutional by-laws state that ALL property owners and commercial tenants (class five or class six real property) within the Yaletown BIA boundaries set by the municipal government MUST fill out the form as part of the BIA levy.

It gives you the rights to vote during our Annual General Meeting to decide our fiscal budget plan and give the YBIA team a direction for the year.

In addition, it gives members access to exclusive economic development resources set by the Yaletown BIA such as grants and business opportunities.

You can attend but you will not be given rights to vote.

YES. Nothing is shared.

You’re not mandated to attend the Annual General Meeting, but we require you to fill out the Member Registration Form as part of the by-law.

YES but in following conditions:

Your representative must either be a trusted [1] YBIA member, [2] a YBIA Board of Director, or [3] a member of your business. You must fill in the proxy section in the Member Registration Form with your representative’s information

All your votes will count so long as your proxy member is present at the AGM.

NO. When at least one person is the business owner or property owner, the member of that entity shall only be granted ONE membership for the entire organization, hence, ONE vote per poll.

Not unless you are at least 6 months old in Yaletown starting from the day you have signed our form, or signed a lease for an unexpired term unless consented by the Board of Directors.
