Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych. is a registered psychologist and Principal of Dr. Joti Samra, R.Psych. & Associates. In addition to her multiple consulting, research, teaching and advisory roles, Dr. Samra maintains an active clinical psychology practice at the Mainland Medical Clinic in Yaletown.
Dr. Samra has expertise in the following evidence-based modalities of treatment: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT); Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT); Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); Interpersonal Therapy (IPT); Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy and Stress Reduction (MBCT/MBSR); and, Dr. John Gottman’s approach to marital therapy. She has expertise in individual, couples’ and family therapy; cognitive and learning assessments; independent medical evaluations; and return-to-work facilitations.
Dr. Samra provides treatment for a range of presenting clinical issues, including: general life stress; relationship difficulties; workplace stress and conflict; mood disorders (depression, dysthymia, bipolar); anxiety disorders (generalized anxiety, panic, posttraumatic stress, obsessive-compulsive behaviours, phobias); eating disorders; borderline personality disorder, self-injurious behaviour, and chronic suicidality; substance use and abuse; and, chronic pain.
